Confident begins with Bjørn Magnussen's direct, intuitive modelling. The first movement of the hand is preserved through casting, while the individually applied blue patina gives each example its own tonal variation.
Insured, specialist art handling and worldwide delivery arranged at checkout.

Part of Confident, Invincible and Protected, a group of three bronze editions developed with Edition Solenne.

Materials and making
Cast bronze
Bronze holds detail that few materials can. Each bronze is cast from the same mould and hand-chased to retain the detail of the artist's original. Patina is applied individually, so tonal and surface variation should be expected across the edition.
01
Mould and wax
The artist's original is captured in a flexible mould, from which a hollow wax replica is taken and refined by hand until every surface matches the source.
02
Lost-wax casting
The wax is encased in a ceramic shell and fired; the wax runs out and molten bronze is poured into the void it leaves, taking on the exact form of the original.
03
Chasing and assembly
The rough cast is released from its shell, sprues removed, and seams chased away by hand so the metal reads as a single continuous surface.
04
Patina and finish
The finished bronze is coloured with heat and chemistry, then sealed with a hand-applied patina unique to each edition.

The artist
Bjørn Magnussen
1996, Copenhagen, Denmark · Painting, Sculpture, Public Commission, Drawing
Bjørn Magnussen is a self-taught Danish artist working across painting, stone sculpture and large-scale public commissions. He describes his method as an "Intuition Revolution": a refusal to work from sketches, developed in part through living with ADHD and Tourette's syndrome, that prioritises instinct and bodily feeling over advance planning. He draws two or three times a day, treating those drawings not as studies but as finished miniature works in their own right.
His practice deliberately moves between the folkelige and the rarefied: a mural at Nørrebro Bycenter and a project at the restaurant Uformel in Copenhagen sit alongside institutional exhibitions. He was awarded the Carl Nielsen og Anne Marie Carl-Nielsens Legat Talent Prize in 2024. His solo exhibition Åbent for alt ran at Holmegaard Værk (2023 to 2024), and in 2026 he curated Intuition Revolution at Sophienholm, Kgs. Lyngby, bringing together artists including Inge Bjørn, Maria Koshenkova, Astrid Seberg, Anna Milman, Tim Bertram, Julius Iversen and Jacob Sej.
