Gun Gordillo

Gun Gordillo was born in Lund, Sweden, and graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1975. For more than fifty years she has worked with light as both subject and material, establishing herself internationally as a pioneer of light art.

A 1974 trip to Egypt, where she encountered large glowing public script, proved a turning point in her engagement with illuminated form. Her practice spans neon sculpture, light installation, relief work and art-architecture integration, and in 2024–25 she held a major solo project at Copenhagen Contemporary.
